Job Description:
Teaches a full range of lecture and lab courses in Engineering, Smart Manufacturing, and Automation programs. Courses include, but are not limited to, statics, dynamics, fluid power, instrumentation and control, strength of materials, machine design, robotics, PLC, Automation, Lean manufacturing and Electromechanical, Cyber Security Manufacturing courses. Assists with course development tutor students as needed. Performs student learning outcome assessment to make continuous improvements in learning outcomes.
Prepares and delivers lectures to students on various topics in relation to a specific discipline
Evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments and papers
Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts
Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, speaking with colleagues and participating in professional conferences
Maintains student attendance records, grades and other required records
Initiates, facilitates and moderates classroom discussions
As needed, advises students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues
Plans, evaluates and revises curricula, course content and course materials and methods of instruction
Compiles, administers and grades examinations
Collaborates with colleagues to address teaching and research issues
Maintains regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students
Selects and obtains materials and supplies such as textbooks and laboratory equipment
Serves on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, department matters and academic issues
Participates in campus and community events
Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, System or Industrial Engineering. A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of industrial experience may be acceptable.
Experience in any of the following areas:
Data-driven manufacturing planning, execution, and control related to Industrial Automation and Industry 4.0, such as Industrial Robotics, Collaborative Robots, Programmable Logic Controllers, Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), Simulation Software Vision Systems, Sensors, Automatic Identification, Industrial Networking, and other related technologies/topics within Smart Manufacturing.
Virtual, augmented, and mixed reality for hybrid human-robot integration, interaction learning for human-robot collaboration
Novel sensing approaches for smart manufacturing
Robotics and manufacturing in the industrial metaverse, robot dynamics and precision control, robot learning, task and motion planning
Security in robotic operation in manufacturing
Realtime process monitoring and control, and smart distributed sensors for factories.
Cyber-security in manufacturing, cloud computing applications in cyber-physical production systems and smart supply chains
Al, with applications in manufacturing and supply networks, manufacturing knowledge graphs, semantic interoperability in digital manufacturing systems
Industrial experience
Teaching experience
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite (or equivalent)
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for students
Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skills
Logic and reasoning skills to identify solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or any of related field
Professional Engineering License in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or any of related field
Community college teaching experience
Special Note: Special Note: This is a full-time tenure track faculty opportunity. The selected faculty member hired for this position could teach at any one of the College's campuses or sites.

Total Compensation & Benefits
Target Hiring Rate/Salary: $55,901 with B.A. plus 30 semester hours (45 quarter credits) or M.A. degree; Education less than or more than stated will affect minimum salary. This salary reflects a nine (9) month contract period. Faculty can work during summer sessions to earn additional wages.
