Duties & Responsibilities:
The SSW faculty position involves research, teaching, advising and related services.
A commitment to social work practice in urban environments as demonstrated through teaching, publications, research, and/or practice.
The successful candidate will focus on the preparation of urban practitioners and leaders, policy experts, knowledge producers, scholars, and social work educators who are committed to solving urban issues and problems and improving the quality of life for urban communities.
There will be a special focus on urban children, youth and families, school social work, gerontology and public health social work within a social and economic justice framework.
Research in the area of Urban Violence highly desired. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines with community
partners are also expected.
Assistant Professors are required to teach in the BSW and/or MSW Programs; conduct school, university, and community service, and have a beginning record of research and scholarship.
Interest and a demonstrated commitment to social work practice in urban environments are also required.
