Job Title Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering Department Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Surveying - 22450 Pay Grade 1 Job Category Faculty Job Summary
The Department of Engineering, Engineering Technology and Surveying at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) is seeking to hire a tenure track assistant/associate professor in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
The successful candidate will primarily teach in the undergraduate general engineering degree (B.S.Eng.), which is a joint degree program, shared between ETSU and Tennessee Technological University. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of undergraduate courses and laboratories in the Electrical and General Engineering curriculum areas. The candidate will also teach courses in the Engineering Technology program in areas related to Electrical Engineering Technology and Manufacturing Engineering Technology. The candidate will also support undergraduate research and student professional organizations such as the student chapter of the IEEE. The successful candidate will support ABET accreditation activities. Faculty must also support the senior project program class in the BSE. Other responsibilities include advising students, directing student projects, and participating in continuous professional development, as well as other departmental and institutional service activities. This is a 9-month faculty appointment.
Maintaining an active research portfolio is expected for tenure-track faculty.
The Department of Engineering, Engineering Technology and Surveying is housed within the College of Business and Technology, which includes seven departments and numerous programs such as Computing; Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain; and Digital Media. The department is a multidisciplinary department with over 12 faculty and support staff. The department offers one ABET-accredited General Engineering program, and four ABET-accredited Engineering Technology programs in Biomedical, Construction, Electronic, and Manufacturing. The department also offers a CIDA-accredited Interior Architecture and an ABET-accredited Surveying and Mapping program. The department has an MS in Engineering Technology program with two concentrations.

Required Qualifications
The candidate must have either a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (or a closely related field) by the hire date or a M.S. in Electrical Engineering and 10 years of relevant industrial experience to be considered.
Successful record of research and applied scholarly activities.
Demonstrated experience and commitment to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings
