Gordon Food Service is hiring a highly motivated and organized individual to fill a part-time temporary position. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to learn new things quickly and adapt to a changing environment

  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with vendors and brokers to source non-stock items.

  • Negotiates cost with special order vendors and updates vendor cost in GFS' cost system. Implements proper margin of special order(s) in the system.

  • Ensures the quality of special order vendor performance.

  • Utilizes industry and product knowledge to leverage shipments of products to GFS' advantage.

  • Resolves special order vendor invoice and purchase order discrepancies and approves vendor freight payments

Ideal candidate will have:

  • 0-1 year of customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Decision making capabilities with an analytical mindset
