PARK MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN $18.00/HOUR depending on experience: Responsible for all general park maintenance and cleaning of public facilities including: restrooms, showers, vault toilets, campsites, picnic areas, trails, etc.
Operates and performs routine maintenance on State owned vehicles and equipment
Assures quality customer service and facility maintenance, repair and cleanliness
Provides information and assistance to visitors
May assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work and transporting materials and supplies
Performs other duties as assigned
Be able to lift 50-100 pounds repeatedly during the course of a single workday
VISITOR SERVICES TECHNICIAN $15.75/HOUR + depending on experience Fruita, CO 81521- Part time 24 hours: A customer service based position that involves working in a visitor center or gate entrance, greeting visitors, or may be assigned to work in the field in specialized duties as some parks. Daily interaction with park visitors requires effective communication and public relations skills.
Staff the park entrance station and/or the visitor center.
Provide information and assistance to visitors (distributes maps/brochures, orients visitors to park facilities and amenities, promotes education programs, educates on State Park regulations, etc.)
Provide information to the boating and non-boating public.
Sell parks passes, permits, books, maps, clothing, firewood and other novelties.
May sell gift certificates, search and rescue cards, boat registrations, OHV registrations and snowmobile registrations, fishing and hunting licenses.
Operate a cash register.
Answering of telephones and transferring/taking messages.
Photo-copying and filing.
Collects revenue, completes shift report and balances shift box at end of each shift.
May prepare campground reservations forms and documents.
May document and report visitor complaints.
Cleaning and light maintenance duties of interior and exterior of gates, visitor center and/or offices, including litter pick up.
May assist with special events or programs within the park.
Other duties as assigned.
INTERNSHIP Park Ranger Intern $18.00/HOUR + depending on experience with an opportunity for increase during the course of employment: This is an internship position that will be exposed to a variety of park operations and other positions within CPW. Dependent on age (21 years minimum) and the results of a background check, ideally this position may also receive training necessary to enforce parks and wildlife laws within the geographic boundaries of the park.
The position will research, advertise and present educational programs to park visitors, assist with general park maintenance, including cleaning restrooms, selling parks and wildlife products via a computerized system and answer questions from the public.
Approximately, 20% of this position's time will be dedicated to the reclamation of riparian and upland habitat.
This includes the use of portable irrigation equipment, applying herbicides, mechanical removal of non-desirable vegetation by hand, saw or mower and caging or adjusting cages around desirable vegetation.
NOTE FOR THIS POSITION:
If conducting law enforcement duties there is a 21 year age minimum
Must maintain a valid driver's license and a current motor vehicle report.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid Colorado drivers' license or reliable transportation
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts.
Previous experience handling money and working with the public.
Computer experience (Microsoft Word, Excel, Point of Sale) is highly recommended and helpful.
May need to undergo criminal background investigation.
Hours: 40 hours per week, nights, holidays and weekends required
Possess strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work with little supervision
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position will perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Possibly Standing for 8 hours straight on overly busy days.
