The Temporary Sales Associate role is an integral part of the store's overall success and efficiency: demanding direct attention to our brand commitment when servicing our customers and driving results. For more than four decades, we have been carefully selecting and hand roasting the finest gourmet peanuts in Virginia and we still honor the same traditional recipe, roasting the "cream of the crop" super extra-large peanuts in small batches according to our "gold standard" providing our customers with peanuts that are unique, distinctive and deliciously crisp. The Sales Associate is responsible for representing the company brand in all activities at the retail store level. Duties include ensuring all customers have a pleasant experience while shopping at The Peanut Shop by greeting each customer, assisting in their needs, answering questions, describing product features, making recommendations and pointing out current promotions. Additional duties include maintaining merchandise areas in appearance & stocking, ringing up sales and other general retail duties. Core Responsibilities * Ensures customers are well served by greeting & providing assistance in answering product questions, pointing out promotions, & offering samples. Assists customer with special orders to include arranging UPS shipping when requested. * Maintains well-stocked and presentable shelves throughout the entire store; replenishes samples when needed. * Rings up sales in the POS system providing change & receipts as appropriate; stays current with sale prices; processes any necessary merchandise returns; participates as needed in end of day closing activities. * Performs general cleaning tasks as assigned (mop, sweep, vacuum) to include bathrooms, counters, doors, windows, fixtures, kitchen, sampling dishes, & mop sink areas. Removes trash to outside dumpster daily. * Receives orders on stock day, prices & puts out on shelves. Keeps track of date products are received & checks for expiration dates.
