JOB SUMMARY:

This temporary, short-term position will assist Biotechnology Researchers with AI research projects focused on utilizing AI approaches in the deep learning model development to enhance agricultural productivity and improve natural resource management. The role involves collecting data for ongoing projects, performing imagery and non-imagery trait analysis, and developing deep learning models. Communication (phone, email, or in-person) with farmers, breeders, and societies may also be required to obtain necessary data records.

This position is for six months with the possibility of extension for up to one year, depending on the need and availability of resources.

The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the incumbent will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree

  • At least two semesters' college in Computer Science or IT & Analytics or other related fields.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and analyzing data using SAS.

  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or similar software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with python programming, and familiarity with machine learning models.
  • A valid drivers' license and independent reliable transportation is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Expect to conduct work using a computer or other mobile digital devices. Sometimes field visits are expected. The applicant must be able to bend to take pictures and safely work with plants.
