Overview

In pursuit of service excellence, the Gym Monitor Recreation Leader provides front-line assistance to patrons at a recreation center. In addition, the Gym Monitor will be responsible for ensuring gym equipment is adequately maintained and used following safety guidelines. The ideal candidate should be able to provide excellent customer service to all center patrons while ensuring a safe and clean environment.

The ideal candidate for this position should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have a strong customer service orientation, pay attention to detail, and have the ability to handle and resolve conflicts professionally and diplomatically. Additionally, the candidate should have basic knowledge of gym equipment, and have current CPR and first aid certification (or be willing to obtain certification). National accreditation requires park and recreation agencies to meet 155 standards representing elements of effective and efficient park and recreation operations.

Minimum & Additional Requirements

High School Diploma and one (1) year of related experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. First Aid training.
