What You Will Do

As a Production Operator you will work in a cleanroom environment building optical components for aerospace display products. Good hand dexterity and attention to detail is required. Experience in electronic and electro-mechanical assembly is a definite plus. Will provide support, and follow direction from Supervisor/Manager, Team Lead, Engineering Aides, and Inspection personnel. This position will have direct contact with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Test Engineering, Calibration, and Supervision.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work in a cleanroom environment using standard cleanroom gowning procedures.

  • Use engineering drawings, specifications, and quality assurance standards to assemble components and assemblies.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of complex assemblies, assembly tools, tooling, and test equipment associated with production product, upgrades, & reworks

  • Adhere to lot traceability and general inventory practices.

  • May be assigned tasks by supervisor/manager such as Fit-for-Use, Shelf Life and Calibration

  • Will be responsible to perform self-audits of workstation or as directed to ensure compliance to system and specification requirements.

  • May assist Engineering with updating routings and work instructions.

  • May perform visual, dimensional, electrical, functional, and optical inspections per specified documentation.

  • Will be responsible for validating that build and inspection equipment is calibrated and/or qualified as Fit-for-Use.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

0-2 years' experience working in electronics production and assembly

Specialized Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to follow detailed processing sheets; able to read and follow basic blueprints and drawings.

  • Must have a keen attention to detail.

  • Must have basic ability to operate a computer.

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and effectively communicate.

  • Participates in problem solving teams to develop process improvements.

  • Willing to work extra hours, and potentially weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machines and computer printers.

  • Frequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, materials, and computer.

  • The person in this position needs to frequently move inside the office.

  • Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Occasionally use of steps, or ladder.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Seldom to occasionally position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing PPE which can include hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes, and appropriate protective clothing.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.

  • This role routinely uses machinery that requires frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  • The employee must use hands in a very precise manners when building parts.

Salary Range

Please note the typical hiring range is $24.00 - $28.00 hourly. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
