Job Description:

The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for performing multiple activities in support of Vertex's

Supply Chain with limited supervision. The Planner applies proficiency in materials planning and logistics to execute upon production and inventory plans and has the emerging ability to contribute to plan development. The Planner has the ability to troubleshoot issues of moderate complexity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represents Supply Chain department on assigned project sub-teams and/or task forces and, with guidance, executes supply chain production activities

  • Analyzes the Material Requirement Plan to calculate raw material needed to support both internal and external demands

  • Creates draft production and inventory plans with guidance based on material requirements analysis in support of projects

  • Executes purchase orders for suppliers and coordinates material deliveries

  • Solves complex logistics issues and selects modes of transport

  • Participates in Quality investigations

  • Implements process improvements to reduce lead-time and eliminate non-value-added activities

  • Takes full responsibility within the scope of the position and/or materials or projects managed to work with various cross-functional groups (such as Quality, Tech Ops, Regulatory, suppliers, etc.) to proactively and collaboratively resolve issues that may block the timely flow of materials or projects

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Exercises sound judgment troubleshooting supply problems and escalating issues appropriately

  • Displays emerging ability to effectively manage customer expectations and influence both individuals and teams

  • Demonstrates growing knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g., GMP. GCP, Part 11)

  • Proven problem-solving capabilities across departments and levels

  • B.S. and at least 3-5 years of relevant work experience
