Job Description:

LOCATION/UNIT: Environmental & Forest Biology

TITLE/SALARY GRADE: Office Assistant 2(Keyboarding), SG-9

DURATION: Temporary Part-time (Approx.10 hours per week for approx. 3 months)

SALARY: $17.26 per hour (Note: current or reconstructed salary for State employees in accordance with NYS Audit and Control)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Assist in sorting incoming mail for faculty/staff/students

  • Log in and inform faculty/staff/students of deliveries

  • Assist with miscellaneous office duties i.e., copying, filing, faxing, and making deliveries around campus

Requirements:

OPERATIONAL NEEDS: Flexible

  • Monday

  • Thursday, 8:00 A.M.

  • 4:30 P.M.

In accordance with the "Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act" institutions of higher education are required to prepare an annual report containing information on campus security policies and campus statistics. This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by SUNY-ESF; and on property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.

The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning sexual assault, and other matters. VIEW JOBS 11/22/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-20T00:00 Job Description: LOCATION/UNIT: Energy Conservation, Development and Controls TITLE/SALARY GRADE: Plant Utilities Engineers I, SG-14 SALARY: $22.88 per hour - (NOTE: current or reconstructed salary for State employees in accordance with NYS Audit and Control) DURATION: Temporary approximately 3 months POSITION DESCRIPTION: Operate, perform maintenance, troubleshoot, make repairs, run performance tests, and calibrate mechanical and electrical equipment providing heat, steam, and high temperature hot water generating and distribution systems, ventilation, air-conditioning, water supply, sanitary systems and electrical distribution in an institutional combined heat and power plant and building mechanical systems. Assist in overseeing energy management and conservation, environmental and safety concerns and preventative maintenance. Utilize Alerton and Johnson building management systems to ensure equipment and energy efficiencies. Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either 1- . two years of satisfactory hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of boilers and/or auxiliary equipment or HVAC equipment in commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities (experience limited to residential applications is NOT considered qualifying); AND an associate's degree in Plant Utilities Technology or the equivalent. ln order to determine whether a specific degree is equivalent to the Plant Utilities Technology program,the major course of study must include a minimum of 30 college semester credit hours in core curriculum courses, creditable toward the degree, in any combination of the following course areas: * Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning * Electrical Circuits * Fluid Mechanics * Technical Communications * Thermal Dynamics * Utility Refrigeration Mechanics * Blueprint Reading and Sketching * Physics * Boiler and Steam Systems * Industrial Electricity * Electric Utility Systems * Plant Operation and Maintenance * Industrial Instrumentation and Control * Industrial Safety * Environmental Air Quality OR thirty college semester credit hours in core curriculum courses creditable toward an associate's degree in Plant Utilities Technology or the equivalent, in any combination of the course areas as described in No. 1 above. OR 2.four years of satisfactory hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of boilers and/or auiliary equipment or HVAC equipment in commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities (experience limited to residential applications is not considered qualify); Or 3.completion of a state Department of Labor apprenticeship program for stationary engineers or for plant maintenance (plumber/steamfitter) or plant maintenance (refrigeration/AC), which is a minimum of four years in duration; Or 4. possession of a Stationary Engineer or Boiler Operator license, which required a minimum of four years of experience or training. The following military experience is considered examples of qualiffing experience: U.S. Air Force: Graduate of heating, HVAC, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration apprenticeship program. U.S. Coast Guard: Must have been an enlisted machinery technician (MK) with the U.S. Coast Guard OR possession of a certificate as a Marine Engineer issued by the United States Coast Guard. U.S. Army: Must have been an enlisted power generation equipment repairer with the U.S. Army. U.S. Navy: Must have been an enlisted gas turbine systems technician, submarine nuclear propulsion plant operator reactor control, utilities man, machinist mate, or engineman with the U.S. Navy. U.S. Merchant Marine: Must have a merchant mariner's document (MMD) and be a qualified member of the engine department (OMED) as an oiler, fireman/watertender, refrigerating engineer or engineman.
