Alene Candles, LLC is seeking a Material Handler II/Driver for the Logistics Department for 3rd shift. The role organizes and transports production and support material and equipment within the area of assignment. The use of manual and powered material handling equipment and packaging equipment may be required. The skills, efforts, responsibilities and working conditions are outlined below and made part of this description. This role has considerable physical demand consisting of frequent lifting or moving average weight material or occasionally lifting or moving heavy weight material in difficult positions. This role will also require use of and the ability to drive a box truck.

Job Functions:

  • Locate, pick, move and store material and equipment according to established procedures, both written and verbal.
  • Unloads and stores material in proper locations and perform receiving transactions.
  • Use material handling equipment such as hand and powered pallet movers, fork trucks and some powered packing equipment such as banders and shrink wrappers
  • Maintain proper documentation and records using various paper forms and computer systems.
  • Operation of company box truck between company buildings.
  • Follows and complies with all safety rules and regulations. Maintains individual work area/equipment in a neat, orderly manner. Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment/ tooling, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor. Count items and audit for package/ shipping damage.
  • Maintain necessary records as required. Moves material as necessary in performance of duties. Cycle count as scheduled
  • Obtain and maintain proper training for powered industrial trucks. Maintain daily logs.
  • Perform other duties as directed


Rate: $18.50/hr

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • 1-4 years related experience and valid driver's license
  • Experience using scan gun, inventory control experience, and experience loading and unload 53' box truck
  • Ability to pass company-paid DOT Medical Exam
  • Must have good comprehension of English language both orally and written

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of BIN transfers
  • Ability to problem solve quickly and in the moment

You will be responsible for 5S and continuous improvement activities on their respective lines and will provide support for department and site 5S and continuous improvement efforts. <strong>NOTE: This is a small work cell supervisory position.
