Walker Methodist Westwood Ridge in West St. Paul offers senior living with services to 127 customers and 37-bed transitional care and rehabilitation center, 24 memory care apartments and 10 care suites.

Walker Methodist is hiring a Maintenance Technician to help maintain buildings and grounds as directed. Perform routine maintenance and janitorial tasks. Respond in case of community emergency and assist in carrying out emergency procedures. Participate in maintaining a safe physical environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Schedule:

  • Part-Time or Full-Time-: Monday through Friday

Position Requirements and Specifications:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent. State of Minnesota driver's license in good standing.

Required Experience: Two years of prior experience in physical plant maintenance or related field. Preferred Experience: Work experience in health care facility preferred.

Major Position Accountabilities:

A. Perform assigned maintenance and janitorial tasks.

1.Change light bulbs, ceiling tile, and filters.

2.Collect trash, use compactor, monitor dumpster areas, and periodically wash out trash containers.

3.Repair equipment throughout the campus and grounds.

4.Operate and monitor energy management systems.

5.Complete preventative maintenance as directed.

6.Complete electronic and written work orders.

7.Perform maintenance tasks in resident rooms while maintaining their privacy and respecting their property.

8.Take on-call shifts as assigned.

B. Perform ground maintenance activities including minor gardening, snow and ice removal (by hand and with equipment) as directed.

C. Respond to building emergencies related to fire, weather, and missing resident.

D. Provide building security as needed.

E. Complete room and furniture set-up.

F. Provide escort to staff and/or visitors.

G. Follow policies and procedures for quality of life, person-centered care, and trauma informed care according to role specific responsibilities.

H. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
