Temporary High School Librarian (Spring 2020)

The Helena Public Schools are accepting applications for Temporary High School Librarian (January 27 - June 11, 2020).

All teaching positions require a Montana Teaching License with appropriate endorsement at the time of employment. Entry-level salary is prorated based on $39,697+ depending upon education level and applicable experience. The District provides a comprehensive cafeteria style benefit package which includes: retirement plan, sick and personal leave, tuition reimbursement, health insurance with dental and vision coverage, life insurance, long term disability insurance, long term care insurance, a section 125 plan and numerous tax sheltered annuities (403b's).

This position is responsible for recording student grades, updating student files, checking MHSA eligibility, recording, processing and printing transcripts for graduated students. This position also maintains faculty funds and coordinates faculty events. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. Directs telephone traffic; takes and delivers messages; routes calls. Responds to routine telephone inquiries regarding general high school policies and procedures. Receives visitors, obtains name and nature of business, directs to appropriate building personnel and may schedule appointments. Compiles and submits a variety of weekly, monthly and year-end reports as required. Prepares materials for printing and distribution to students, parents and/or guardians, staff and the school community. Processes purchase orders, direct pays and maintenance work orders. Performs a variety of clerical duties such as typing, proofreading, photocopying, distributing incoming mail and posting outgoing mail. Maintains, orders and stocks supplies for building supply room. Maintains accurate files and records. Maintains a list of student names and information for activities lists. Facilitate student registration and transcripts May perform other duties as assigned. Helena School District # 1 10-month Secretary/Clerical Employees Benefit Summary 2017-2018 WORK PERIOD * 8 hours per day/210 days per year excluding a lunch period not to exceed 1 hour or less than ½ hour. The work day and lunch hour shall be set by the immediate supervisor. * 2 paid fifteen minute breaks per day ANNUAL LEAVE (Vacation) * Newly hired full-time ten month employees normally accrue 12.5 days per year (leave normally accumulates at the rate of 1.25 days per month). NOTE: State Law mandates that Annual Leave cannot be utilized until the employee has been continuously employed for a period of 6 calendar months. SICK LEAVE * Full-time ten month employees accrue 10 days per year (leave accumulates at the rate of 1 day per month) NOTE: State Law mandates that Sick Leave cannot be utilized until the employee has been continuously employed for a period of 90 days. PERSONAL BUSINESS LEAVE * 3 days per year (Actual days are pro-rated depending upon time of year hired) HOLIDAYS -8 paid holidays per year (Labor Day, Thanksgiving (2 days), Christmas (2 days); New Year's Day; Presidents Day; and Memorial Day) CAFETERIA BENEFITS PLAN Current District contribution to plan is $740.00/month ($8,880/benefit year) for full-time employees to use for a selection of the following: Health Insurance (includes dental and optical coverage) Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Tax Sheltered Annuities, and Section 125 savings plan (for Child and/or Dependent Care and Medical Reimbursements).
