Temporary Extra Help - Office Clerk

Whatcom County District Court is hiring a Temporary Extra Help employee to provide filing assistance and clerical support. Specific duties will include confidential filing, scanning of documents, preparing court files and other duties as assigned.

Other Duties may include:

• Identifies customer needs, explains services clearly and promptly responds to requests. Evaluates priorities and independently addresses routine and diverse matters.

• Mailing out documents.

• Performs basic research of documents and compiles data.

The ideal candidate must:

• Be proficient in computer and office skills, including operation of standard office equipment

• Be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy

• Have reliable attendance

• Wear clothing appropriate for court setting

Working hours:

• Approximately 16-20 hours per week but no more than 69 hours per month.

• Days of the week and hours per day are flexible, but must be able to work between the hours of 8:30 and 4:00, Monday through Friday.

• Requires high school diploma or GED and two years of progressively responsible general office, clerical and/or secretarial experience.

• Must be able to lift 20 pounds.

• Background check must meet County criteria.
