The Temporary Data Collector will perform research related tasks for the Center on Secondary Education for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder Follow-Up Study at the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute. The primary responsibility will be to conduct interviews with young adults on the autism spectrum and their families across North Carolina.

The position will also include scheduling data collection visits, compiling data collection materials, entering data, and tracking the progress of research participants. Interviews may be completed during evening and weekend hours and will require some in-state travel.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Preferred: Personal experience (e.g. family member, teacher) with an adolescent or young adult on the autism spectrum and is highly professional and discerning. A graduate degree is preferred and previous research experience is desirable.

The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing death records from the medical examiner system to abstract, code and enter study data into electronic study database. Candidate will need to travel to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Raleigh regularly. Study training will be provided. The selected candidate will be required to pass CITI Ethics Training within 30 days of hire. Candidate must demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and be detail oriented. Bachelors degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Essential Skills: Ability to work independently and learn from written materials and instructions. Attention to detail, completeness and accuracy. Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to work with others in a professional matter.
