Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Facility Engineering or designee. The Certified Maintenance Mechanic performs maintenance tasks relevant to the required experience for the position.

This includes, but is not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpenter, painter, and sheet metal/welder. Entry into this position requires completion of Mechanic Education and Certification for Healthcare (MECH) at the "Certified Level".

Certified Maintenance Mechanic performs complicated facility maintenance repairs and supports other classifications as needed and/or directed.

Education Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of Mechanic Education and Certification for Healthcare (MECH) at the "Certified Level" or have one of the following:
1.Journeyman card or,
2.Licensure in appropriate craft/trade or,
3.A.S. Degree in field of specialty or,
4.Successful completion of ARNOT HEALTH specialty exam (e.g. electrician, HVAC, plumber, machinist/welder or carpenter).

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of two years previous maintenance experience required, HEALTHCARE MAINTENANCE PREFERRED. Ability to read and understand blue prints, architectural, electrical, mechanical drawings, and factory specifications. Have the ability to maintain main plant equipment, (boiler, feed-water pumps, chillers, cooling tower, etc., IF DESIGNATED/ASSIGNED.

Arnot Health - Arnot Ogden Medical Center- Elmira, New York Job Summary: A Respiratory Therapist/Anesthesia Technician who contributes to safe efficient and cost-effective anesthesia care by providing support in anesthesia for routine and complex surgical and other invasive and non-invasive procedures by assisting the Anesthesiologist/Anesthesia Provider with specified duties in the Operative Services area as well as other areas where anesthesia services are provided. Must be knowledgeable and provide safe care to all patients requiring respiratory and anesthesia services. Is accountable for own actions concerning direct and indirect care of the patients. The Anesthesia Technician is accountable for the acquisition, preparation and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia. They provide this service by preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices, anesthesia delivery systems, blood gas analyzers, ventilators and other related equipment before, during and after anesthesia. The Anesthesia Technician reports to the Anesthesia Manager, Unit Director and Administrative Director of Perioperative Services. Education Requirements: Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist or Technician by New York State or eligible. Credentialed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC or eligible. BLS Certified.
