Temporary Buyer / Planner needed in Lincolnton, NC

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for material availability as it applies to sustaining the manufacturing lines, continuous process improvement, cost out, new product introduction and transfers of work. This role also supports the materials team in achieving business objectives such as price deflation, inventory turnover and customer on time delivery.
Additional responsibilities include:
Responsible for reviewing material planning requirements (MRP) and purchasing activities for select suppliers and assigned parts in support of Production, non-production and/or After Market business
Maintain PO due dates and quantity changes daily and communicate changes
Reschedule POs as needed to meet production needs
Develop projects to meet company inventory and deflation goals
Create and compile performance reports for suppliers and service for Business Units and suggest plans to achieve performance objectives
Setup and monitor Kanban and/or other systems to maintain material flow to production lines
High School Diploma
Must have a minimum of 4-6 years practical experience in forecasting, MRP and MPS.
Experience with ERP systems including inventory planning and purchasing
Strong analytical skills
Effective communications skills with ability to work across multiple organizational functions
Work independently and is self-motivated
Experience in Distribution & Manufacturing operations
Experience with packaged ERP Software (Oracle Prefered)
Experience with Purchasing and Trade regulations
Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite products
Excellent teamwork skills ability to work in cross-functional groups, preferably multi-national
