NOTE: This position is a temporary position, for up to 9 months. It is possible this position will be asked to work between 24 to 40 hours per week and up to 5 days a week and possibly have 2 different supervisors.

The mission of the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) is to foster the responsible development of Colorado's oil and gas natural resources. Responsible development results in:

  • The efficient exploration and production of oil and gas resources in a manner consistent with the protection of public health, safety and welfare

  • The prevention of waste

  • The protection of mineral owners' correlative rights

  • The prevention and mitigation of adverse environmental impacts

The COGCC seeks to serve, solicit participation from, and maintain working relationships with all those having an interest in Colorado's oil and gas natural resources.

This position is located in the Hearing Section and supports the Program Assistant. Description of Job

This position provides support to the Program Assistant in the Hearing Section by performing general clerical work. The position is a 9 month temporary aide job, 3 days per week, but possibly up to 5 days, with 2 supervisors.

Specific Duties may include:

  • General clerical work that is time sensitive

  • Maintains filing system and database

  • Experience using a personal computer (not a Macintosh)

  • Experience using MS Word and MS Excel

  • Posts information to the Division's intranet

  • Understands .pdf files

  • Knows how to operate a copier

  • Distributions mail to staff members

  • Basic analytical skills

  • Ability to work alone

  • Self motivated/desire to learn

  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods

  • Ability to lift 50 lb. boxes

  • Other duties as assigned

  • No phone skill needed

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Minimum Requirements:

One year of general clerical experience that provided direct information/customer service to the general public in an administrative or office support role. Retail or food service customer service is not in an office support environment and will not be given credit toward the minimum requirements.) General clerical duties are described as: the accurate and timely completion and processing of documents and information; scheduling accepting orders; reception and intake; record keeping and maintenance; meeting arrangements; transcription; document production, including typing and word processing; gathering, coding, computing, entering, verifying, and reporting data and information; ordering, issuing, and inventorying items; document duplication and information release; screening documents and supporting information to determine eligibility, authenticity, or identity; issuing, including selling. For this position many tasks will require typing. (This information must be specifically noted on your application.)

Necessary Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel) is required

  • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to work with little or no supervision

Work Schedule: Initially Tuesday - Thursday, 8a.m.- 5p.m., up to 24 hours per week (subject to change)
