The UNM Occupational Therapy Graduate Program at the University of New Mexico anticipates hiring temporary part-time adjunct faculty to teach courses or problem based learning in the Fall 2019, Spring 2020 and Summer 2020. Anticipated openings potentially include the following subject areas among others:

  • Leadership and advocacy in occupational therapy

  • Community occupational therapy

  • Neurological and orthopedics occupational therapy

  • Problem based learning in orthopedics, neurological or pediatric occupational therapy

  • Evidence based practice

  • Psychosocial occupational therapy

  • Research in occupational therapy

Duties will include co-teaching faculty in OCTH 5214L in which students gain an Occupational Therapy perspective of human movement. In Occupational Therapy, it is important to recognize the complexity of movement and integration of functions that are necessary for participation in activities and daily living tasks. Be involved in the fieldwork requirement for the course, help train PBL facilitators, and develop cases.

Positions are contingent upon each semester as determined by current course offerings.

This position is subject to criminal records screening in accordance with New Mexico law and clearance by the New Mexico Department of Health is required as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in New Mexico by start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching at university level

  • Master's degree in occupational therapy or a related field

  • Teaching or clinical experience in needed content areas

  • Experience teaching with Problem-based Learning Method
