UNM Taos anticipates hiring Adjunct Faculty to teach in the Fall 2019 and/or Spring 2020 Semesters in the EMS Education Department to teach, coordinate, and/or develop Lower Division Courses (100-200 Level). Anticipated openings potentially include the following subjects:

  • EMS 180, EMT-Intermediate didactic
  • EMS 143, EMT-Intermediate lab
  • EMS 151, EMT-Intermediate Clinical
  • EMS 113, EMT-Basic didactic
  • EMS 142, EMT-Basic lab

The UNM-Taos branch campus serves students from northern New Mexico and the larger community with comprehensive educational opportunities in order to better prepare them to successfully participate in the world as educated, skilled, creative and responsible individuals. The Taos Campus is an open-access, student-centered, affordable college offering dual-credit, basic skills, transfer, career-technical, workforce training and lifelong learning courses and programs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
1.HS Diploma or GED
2.Current EMS license at or above the level being taught or medical license
3.At least 3 years related (EMS or medical) experience.
4.Current New Mexico EMS Instructor/Coordinator level I or above certification

Preferred Qualifications:
1.Bachelors or master's degree in EMS or associated field.
2.At least 5 years related (EMS or medical) experience.
3.Current NM Paramedic, current National Registry Paramedic Certification
4.Currently certified as a New Mexico EMS Instructor/Coordinator level II

Potential courses include (but not limited to) the following lower division courses: CNST 111-Introduction to Welding (This course serves as an introduction to welding with a concentrated emphasis on developing techniques required in the profession of welding. In this introductory course we will focus on the technique of Arc Welding) CNST 117-Principles of Oxyacetylene Welding (This course serves as an introduction to Oxyacetylene Welding with a concentrated emphasis on developing techniques required in the profession of oxyacetylene welding, due to the simplicity of the equipment compared to other welding methods) CNST 109 Plumbing Theory I CNST 114 Solar Adobe CNST 118 Alternative Building Construction CNST 124 Sustainable Energy-Photo Voltaic Systems CNST 126 Photovoltaics CNST 127 Introduction to Solar Technology CNST 137 Alternative Building and Construction CNST 174 Design for Green Building One welding course is specific to Questa Independent School District for Fall 2019. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications to teach or develop courses in the field or subfield for which you are applying are determined by Higher Learning Commission's accreditation requirements for faculty, and must be met by one of these ways: 1. BA/BS in the field and/or a combination of education, training and tested experience. Training and experience could include the following: 3-5 years professional experience in the field and/or certifications/credentials in the field of Construction Technology (specific to your subfield).
