Position Information

This job primarily includes assisting with peanut white mold and nematode field and greenhouse experiments during the growing and harvest season.

The person in this position will assist in plot layout, planting, treatment preparation and application, and plot maintenance. This person will also be involved in disease evaluations and first level data management such as copying filing and providing copies to the primary investigator.

The person in this position will work closely with the research coordinator in this project with regard to scheduling treatment application, evaluations, and harvest. Lab work is also involved with basic fungal culturing and media preparation.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

High school diploma

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Physical Demands

Bending, lifting, endure outside elements for extended periods of time, driving.

Operate farm machinery and peanut shelling/grading equipment, work safely with both registered and experimental pesticides, and handle bags of harvested peanuts (~40 pounds) during the harvest process.
