JOB SUMMARY
The Superintendent Security Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe and timely transport of the Superintendent to various events and engagements around the county. The position also includes providing a security detail to ensure the Superintendent's safety at all times. This role demands a high level of confidentiality, punctuality, and professionalism.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely transports the Superintendent of Schools to and from various locations within Anne Arundel County.
Provides security detail, including intervening if the Superintendent's safety is in question.
Maintains the confidentiality of the Superintendent's schedule and activities.
Ensures the Superintendent arrives at all scheduled events punctually and safely.
Conducts regular vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure reliability and safety.
Reports to the Chief of Staff and meets weekly with the Superintendent's Executive Administrative Assistant and Chief of Staff to review and coordinate the monthly calendar.
Adapts to changes in schedule and route as necessary, maintaining flexibility and readiness.
Monitors the surroundings and anticipate potential security threats during transport and at events.
Collaborates with law enforcement and other security personnel as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Bachelor's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required;
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Experience
Three (3) years professional experience in a security role, preferably in a high-profileor executive setting required;
Experience in law enforcement or military background preferred;
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Familiarity with Anne Arundel County and surrounding areas.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations, including district staff, families, and external stakeholders doing business with the district.
Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
Licenses and Certifications
Employee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment.
Hold or be eligible for First Aid Certification issued by American Heart Association, Inc (AHA) or American Red Cross authorized training centers preferred; and
Hold or be eligible for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification issued by American Heart Association, Inc (AHA) or American Red Cross authorized training centers preferred.
Hold or be eligible for AACPS Defense Driver Certificate issued by AACPS preferred.
Hold or be eligible for Driver's License (DL) Class C Non-Commercial issued by Maryland or State of Legal Residence (MVA/DMV) required; and
Proof of a good driving record required.
Daily access to reliable transportation.
Driving Requirements
Driving is required to conduct bona fide Board business that is within the scope of employment in this position.
