Relationship Banker (Teller)/ Part-Time

As part of our retail banking team, you will provide the responsive, friendly service and can-do approach that helps TCF make banking easier for our customers. You will have a hands-on role in helping us provide essential banking products and services that are aligned with our customers' financial needs, schedules and lifestyles.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customers with the respectful, informed, and friendly assistance that builds their trust and loyalty.

  • Complete customers' transactions accurately, quickly, professionally, and with a smile.

  • Help customers understand their accounts thoroughly and identify TCF products and services that can meet their needs. Cultivate the knowledge and relationships that will help you serve our customers better and meet your individual sales goals.

  • Help us protect our customers and our business. That includes maintaining a balanced terminal, following procedures and security protocols, correcting errors promptly, protecting customer information, and ensuring compliance with internal and governmental policies and regulations. If a question or problem arises, you'll work with our customers and other TCF team members to investigate it and resolve it.

Qualifications:

  • You've completed high school or your GED, or you are working toward it.

  • Your previous experience proves that you want to serve customers well: at least six months of success in a customer-centric, results-driven environment. You've shown that you want to excel at cultivating customer satisfaction and loyalty.

  • You communicate well with customers and team members. You listen well. You can start a conversation with customers, build relationships, resolve problems, and ask questions in a friendly and professional manner that helps you identify and meet customer needs.

  • You've got the basics down you can handle banking calculations accurately and have basic computer skills. You can pass all the testing that is part of our Relationship Banking training program.

  • If you have previous experience in customer contacts, sales, or cash handling, we're especially interested in hearing from you.

Accountabilities: Essential responsibilities include: * Identifying customer needs in order to appropriately recommend bank products and services. * Effectively communicating the benefits of recommended bank products and services. * Cross-selling CIB Marine Bancshares, Inc (CIBM) and subsidiary products and services to further client relations and enhance organizational profitability. * Processing new account transactions, including but not limited to, completing related documents, data input, receiving the initial deposit, and providing cash station/debit cards. * Contributing to the achievement of branch goals and participating in periodic sales campaigns. * Maintaining relationships with current customers and generating loan and deposit growth within the Bank's risk guidelines. * Assisting customers with account inquiries by providing information and resolving issues. * Participating and representing the bank in community activities. * Providing administrative support to other retail and lending staff to meet the needs of the customer and assist in the sales efforts of the facility. * Strictly adhering to bank policies, procedures, and controls over customer transactions and security. * Attending product, sales, and compliance training as required. * Effectively and fluently communicating with customers, co-workers, and other business contacts within a culturally diverse work environment. * Developing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels by proactively participating and contributing to a positive work environment, controlling emotions and temperament, and exhibiting courteous, respectful, and professional behavior. Additional responsibilities include: * Staying abreast of company policies and procedures by attending and successfully completing all mandatory corporate and departmental training. Qualifications Required Skills and/or Education: Knowledge of banking regulations and practices consistent with that normally obtained through 18 months of education or training beyond high school, or equivalent, is required. Skills and abilities sufficient to perform the essential functions--such as customer service and teller duties, data entry, basic mathematical calculations, and communication skills--are required. The ability to lift 50 lbs. is also required. Preferred Skills and/or Experience: Approximately three years of experience in banking or a related field, knowledge of bank regulations, and proficiency in using computer software for typical office applications are preferred. Nature and Scope: This position is a regular full time position on a schedule established by the supervisor. An altered work schedule and overtime are occasionally worked to meet the demands and deadlines associated with the position.
