The Teller Supervisor leads and supports the daily activities of Tellers to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service, and provides sales, service and operational support to the banking center team. In addition, the Teller Supervisor will work collaboratively with a dedicated Branch Operations Specialist or Designate to implement operational changes and to ensure all Tellers are updated on and following operational standards.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 1 - 3 Years experience in function

  • 1 - 3 Years experience in industry

  • Minimum of 2 years prior Teller experience preferred; thorough understanding of retail operations, product knowledge, sales and regulatory requirements. Ability to supervise and provide direction to team members.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver effective communication positively with a customer service approach.

  • Proven track record in accuracy and efficiency in conducting transactions and cash balancing; demonstrated success in assessing customer needs and referring products and services.

  • Strong attention to detail, while demonstrating accuracy in performing all work assignments; excellent organization and time management skills.

  • Excellent problem solving ability; able to make sound and reasonable decisions regarding customer transactions, weighing customer satisfaction with the Bank's exposure to loss and/or fraud.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and core banking software required.


Team Leadership

  • Supervise the daily activities of Tellers, including, but not limited to: scheduling, answering questions, resolving issues, providing override approvals/exceptions and coaching Tellers to uncover referral opportunities.

  • Guide the sales activities of the Tellers to promote referrals to the platform sales team. Observe customer interactions and provide feedback to ensure Chemical Bank customer service standards are met and sales and cross-sell opportunities are not missed.

  • Assist Tellers with escalated customer issues and concerns, ensuring they are promptly and efficiently resolved.

  • Compile information and generate reports on teller's performance including tracking referrals, balancing, correcting errors and differences and completing Teller performance assessments.

  • Monitor, identify, and work with management to improve performance concerns; implement solutions and provides coaching to correct them. Ensure the training needs of Tellers are being met.


  • Operate a cash drawer as needed and serve as a role model in the consistent execution of activities and behaviors related to sales and service.

  • Ensure logs are being properly maintaining and that the vault and/or ATM are balanced, including preparing and receiving cash shipments. Ensure that the ATM, night drop, and coin machine are processed and proofed daily.

  • Regularly conduct audits to ensure Tellers are complying with all bank policies and procedures including, but not limited to, CTR preparation, drawer limits, check cashing guidelines and security procedures.

  • Provide assistance to the Banking Center Manager in operational duties, including opening and closing the banking center.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of retail processes and procedures; knowledgeable in overall branch operations, and regulatory, security, operational and audit compliance.


  • Accurately open and maintain customer accounts; contact customers after opening accounts as part of the customer onboarding process.

  • Consistently execute activities and behaviors to meet established, sales, cross-sell and referral goals; facilitate relationship review conversations with new and existing customers to establish, retain and expand relationships.

  • May be responsible for taking consumer loan applications and if registered, home equity lines of credit.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of products and services to support customer needs; educate customers on various products and services, explaining key features and benefits.

Other / Miscellaneous

  • Maintain customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Participate in Community Reinvestment Act efforts and activities.

  • Provide support on sales campaigns and other initiatives.

Such collaboration must be in accordance with current federal, state and local standards and guidelines to ensure that the highest degree of quality is maintained at all times. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL: (40%)* Responsible for the assessment, development and ongoing changes of patient/resident care plans, and quality outcomes. (25%)* Participates in direct patient/resident care as needed. (20%)* Ensures appropriate care plans are initiated and updated with condition change, and documentation supports care provided. (15%)* Daily rounding with staff and patient/resident. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and maintains good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel to meet the needs of each patient/resident.
