PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Teller is responsible for performing routine branch operations and customer service duties. Promotes business for the bank by maintaining good customer service relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new service.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

  • Promptly and accurately handle lobby, drive-thru, night deposit, or bank-by-mail customer transactions according to Home Bank's policies and federal and state compliance requirements

  • Process daily teller work thru "Branch Capture" ensuring debits and credits balance in accordance with established policies and guidelines

  • Assist with ATM balancing and replenishing

  • Promote the bank's products and services in order to meet customer needs

  • Receive checks and cash for deposit to accounts, determine if checks are properly payable, verify amounts, examine checks for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into computer records. Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds

  • Process withdrawals and pay out money after verification of signatures and customer balances

  • Cash checks in accordance with Home Bank's procedures, and ensure that on-us funds are collected and appropriately disbursed

  • Receive mortgage, consumer loan and other payments; ensure the payments match balances due

  • Process credit card transactions

  • Sell certified checks in accordance with guidelines

  • Perform expected behaviors in the HOME referral model

  • Promote and explain checking and savings accounts, IRAs, certificates of deposit, safe deposit boxes

  • Promote other services such as consumer and mortgage loans and other convenience services

  • Required to meet referral goals according to current guidelines established by management

  • Perform a variety of customer service transactions, such as account holds, stop payment orders, direct deposits, and check confirmations

  • Provide comprehensive, prompt, and efficient customer service in all transactions and ensure that all federal and state compliance requirements are met

  • Accept written requests for name and address changes, check reorder forms, and similar special services

  • Count, verify and package coins and currency

  • Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and compare totaled amounts to computer-generated proof sheet. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary

  • Maintain a neat work station and ensure that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.

  • Work as drive-thru teller on a rotating basis

  • Assist with ATM balancing and replenishing as needed

  • Perform other duties as required

WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • General cash handling & customer service experience

  • Previous Teller experience highly preferred

KNOWLEDGE OF

  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills

  • Strong knowledge of daily branch, vault and ATM operations

  • Good mathematical and organizational skill

SKILLS PERFORMED

  • Cash handling, balancing skills

  • Customer service skills

  • General sales referral skills

ABILITY TO

  • Ability to work expected Banking Center hours of operation including some Saturday (based on Market and Location)

  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner

  • Use good judgment and be discrete with confidential information

  • Work independently and as part of a team
