Position Summary:

Performs teller duties in a professional branch environment behind a teller line. Provides exemplary customer service to both existing and potential customers to ensure banking needs are being met in a timely and efficient manner.

This non-exempt position requires full-time hours Monday through Friday at the branch location. The hourly rate is commensurate with teller experience. Cash handling experience is required. This is not a remote position.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides superior service to bank customers by performing banking transactions, handling both current and potential customer inquiries and expanding bank relationships. Directs customers with loan inquiries to appropriate personnel.

  • Maintains and balances case drawer, received deposits, posts payments, and pay out customer funds.

  • Projects a professional image of the bank.

  • Provides excellent customer service and can work as a team with other members of the bank staff.

  • Expands bank relationships by making appropriate referrals, such as mortgage and commercial lending.

  • Perform account research and problem solving.

  • Maintain customer satisfaction and confidence by representing the bank in a positive manner, maintaining confidentiality, answering various questions and conducting business in a professional manner.

  • Answer all calls within 3 rings and return phone calls or follow-up within 24-hours.

  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.1

  • Contribute to the bank team effort by working on special projects and reports, performing other job-related duties and accomplishing related results.

  • Complete all mandatory training sessions as required by management.

  • Demonstrate a full understanding of security and dual control policy and procedures.

  • Comply with bank procedures and follow regulatory, operational and security guidelines.

  • Follow all other instructions and perform other job-related duties, at the discretion of branch management.

Qualifications

Preferred Education/Experience/Software:

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with good knowledge of basic math. Additional banking or general business courses is preferred. One-year cash handling and customer service background are required. Teller experience preferred. Knowledgeable in a wide range of Microsoft Office software applications.

Training:

Responsible for the timely completion of all required compliance training such has BSA, Information Security, and other job specific training as assigned.

BSA Compliance:

Complies as required with relevant Bank policies and procedures related to BSA, including capture of required CTR data, capture of data for Monetary Instrument Log, and review of parties against the OFAC list. Promptly informs manager and/or compliance staff of potential suspicious activities. .

Additional Requirements:

The responsibility to acquire and maintain the required knowledge of State and Federal Banking regulations and policies. Ability to perform basic math calculations is essential. Manual dexterity and proficiency with both computer and calculator are required. Must have excellent customer relation skills.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Professional office environment. While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to operate standard office equipment. The team member is frequently required to communicate and perceive. The position is primarily stationary and not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions and requires sedentary work such as exerting up to 10 pounds of force 5% of the time and a negligible amount of force approximately 95% of the time.
