Position Brief:

Primaryresponsibility for teller transactions and supporting service and salesactivities. The essential functions are noted below; however, at CamdenNational responsibilities may evolve over time given organization,technological and/or staffing changes. At any point other duties may be assigned.


  • Display workingknowledge of bank application software by utilizing computer systems to obtaincustomer information, account balances, account transactions, etc.

  • Function as a primarycontact with the public, serving customers in a cordial manner and fostering apositive customer experience with each interaction.

  • Process a variety oftransactions using judgment regarding the validity of transactionspresented. Refers items outside of own authorityor questionable transactions to a supervisor or manager.

  • Accept deposits, verifycash and endorsements, issue receipts, process withdrawals and cash checkswithin established guidelines.

  • Process deposits andpayments received by mail, night drop, and in the ATM.

  • Maintain a satisfactoryproving record.

  • Responds to generalcustomer inquiries and has the ability to assist customers with consumer andbusiness products.

  • Adheres to Tellerpolicies and procedures.

  • Answers incoming callsand responds as appropriate to serve the needs of the caller.

  • Demonstrates knowledgeof teller processing which includes transaction processing, maintenance ofequipment, cash handling, and beginning and end of day procedures.

  • Demonstrates a generalunderstanding of Vault procedures.

  • Participates in thesales and service activities through support and referrals.

  • Responsible todelivering the best banking experience to customers.

  • Demonstrates a strongknowledge of bank products and services.


  • High school diploma orgeneral education degree (GED); or one to three months related experienceand/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
