Hours/Week: 37.5 hours Location: US:PA:Scranton

Summary:

A Teller is usually the first point of contact for Bank patrons; therefore they must create and deliver a positive customer experience while providing a variety of services involving the receipt and payment of all monies. This position requires an individual with a positive attitude, who is a team player, and is able to actively listen for customer financial needs and refer them to the appropriate bank product or bank representative.

Ideal candidate with prior cash handling or customer service skills is preferred but not required.

Education and training:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Skills:

  • Good communication skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Basic math and computer skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt, comprehensive and effective customer service

  • Deliver accurate processing of basic bank transactions while following proper procedures to minimize errors and reduce fraud

  • Assist customers with general account maintenance inquiries

  • Promote bank products and services, follow up on opportunities to expand customer relationships, and refer customers to appropriate contacts (e.g. Sales Representatives, Financial Service Representatives, Lenders, etc.)

  • Prepare individual daily settlements of teller cash and proof operations; report any discrepancies to appropriate supervisor

  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures and internal controls, and meet all job-specific requirements in a timely fashion

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or directed

Other information:

As an integral member of the Branch Department, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Branch Department and the Bank in achieving their annual goals.
