TELEMETRY TECHNICIAN

At Select Specialty/ Regency Hospital, a division of Select Medical, our specialty hospitals care for chronically and critically ill or post-ICU patients who require extended hospital care. We are currently seeking a Telemetry Technician to join our team. We offer an excellent network of career opportunities across the U.S.

Responsibilities

As a Telemetry Technician, you will assume responsibility for continuously watching and ensuring appropriate and timely responses to alarms. Verifying correct identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms and artifact; maintain EKG monitor alarms and responds to all alarms as needed.

Other responsibilities of the Telemetry Technician position include:

  • Continuously observes all monitors assigned and responds to alarms promptly and appropriately

  • Completes EKG interpretations including: rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, wave form alterations, and rhythm interpretation

  • Ensures strip interpretations are validated by RN.

  • Displaying a "customer service" attitude toward patients, visitors, and other staff members at all times

Other requirements of the Tele Technician role include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Licensed Paramedic, LPN with EKG training, or RN nursing student with EKG training preferred

  • Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs and required competencies on SERC within 30 days of start date

  • Positive, caring and customer-service-oriented attitude

Technician (intermediate level) Technician Senior Position Summary: Position resides in the Distribution Engineering Best Practices organization. Primary responsibilities are to interface directly wth operating company distribution design personnel advising, answering questions and training them on distribution engineering design utilizing the survey field data collection and distribution engineering software tools. Individual will also interface with operating company personnel of all levels to support and train data collection tools and specifically electrical utility facilities damage assessment tool. Individual must have, or develop, and be able to communicate a general working knowledge of the Distribution Standards manual, distribution construction practices and applicable codes, such as the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC). Principal Accountabilities: Technical Proficiency: Demonstrates ability to perform with minimal guidance a variety of non-routine technical assignments of a complex nature. Exhibits ability to understand interrelationship between systems and component equipment in area of assignment. Planning & Organization Ability: Organizes and conducts meetings and training covering engineering design topics and software as well as surveying tools and techniques. Reviews trends data collection tools such as remote sensors to find those tools that would benefit the overall enterprise from a best practices perspective. Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Proficient oral and written skills with ability to effectively communicate to field construction, engineering, and management/supervisory personnel. Develops, reviews or prepares technical training clearly, concisely and effectively. Leads training sessions and facilities meetings effectively. Uses informal network to get things done. Decision Making & Business Awareness: Uses diverse approaches to make decisions inthe absence of a definite framework or where few precedents exist. Demonstrates the ability to handle conflicting interests related to approaches on projects or studies: also demonstrates the ability to analyze options and risks.
