Telemetry Technician

Telemetry Technician at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane, WA

The Monitor Technician functions under the direction and supervision of the Charge Nurse/ANM to perform constant observation of the central station cardiac monitors, as well as arrhythmia interpretation and documentation related to cardiac rhythms.

Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse/ANM, the Monitor Technician is assigned to:

• Constantly observe all monitors

• Interpret and document patient cardiac rhythms, communication with appropriate nurse regarding rhythm changes and concerns

• Maintain and update monitor worksheet

• Maintain and update patient EKG histories

• Respond to Nurse Call System and telephone appropriately

Preferred Qualifications:

• Complete classes or arrhythmia recognition and pass on arrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 85% and 100% on lethal arrhythmias
