Telemetry Tech - FT Days

Under the supervision of an RN, the telemetry technician is to assist the professional nursing staff by monitoring cardiac rhythms for those patients the physician has placed on telemetry.

Performs any other tasks assigned by Management.

Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.

Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.

Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.

Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.Performs various duties related to the assigned nursing unit in accordance with established Hospital Policies and Procedures.

Minimum EducationX High school diploma or equivalent X Preferred

X Must complete telemetry certification and pass the "Basic EKG Interpretation" exam at time of hire.X Must complete and pass APEX INNOVATIONS within 90 days of hire.

Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:X Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart AssociationX EKG Exam at time of hire

Minimum Work ExperienceOne (1) year experience is preferred.
