The Tele-Med company requests, at minimum, for you to be available at least 5 hours per week, any hour of the day/week. One platform also allows you to toggle yourself on and off to be on demand if you will. And the second company will just have consults in your waiting room in your profile online and you can log on when you can, they do ask that you try and log in with 24 hours..
This position has option of being fully remote, however you must have access to an internet connection, telephone, tablet or iPad, or computer.
This is a Locum/Contract opportunity. You are paid as a 1099 contractor and your tele-med malpractice is covered by Lifeline Recruiting.
Each provider will have 30-40 consults per week to start, depending upon availability and specialty or subspecialty. We have some providers who do 10 per week and some who do 200, it is up to you how much you work.
Both Tele-Med partners are multi-state healthcare organizations which focus on utilizing innovative technology to deliver care directly to patients, as well as, to a network of partners including Managed Care Organizations, Accountable Care Organizations, rural hospitals, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and practice groups.
Physicians and NPs will be assessing and treating patients with low-acuity illnesses and minor ailments such as urinary tract infections, allergies, cold and flu, sinus infections and other such conditions. As well as, performing consultations for lab services, DME and alternative pain therapy including topicals. Providers will not be prescribing controlled substances.
All patients undergo a complete intake triage completed by a Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant even when patient medical records are pushed to us by their provider. Our telehealth providers have access to detailed patient medical records, as well as, updated information provided by Surescripts and Lexicomp.
Consultations are requested either directly by patients via the patient portal or en-mass as requested by one of the healthcare partners. One company is currently seeing a high volume of preventative lab requests from partners as they move to meet MIPS & MACRA requirements for 2019.
These include genetic screening for hereditary cancers for patients that have a past diagnosis of cancer, as well as, Pharmacogenomics testing as a means to reduce adverse episodes and to complete med reconciliations on patients. The second handles more DME and Rx consults. We also work to assist the partners in completing annual wellness visits and those components that can be completed via telehealth such as PHQ9 assessments, Smoking Cessation consults and nutritional consultations.
Each have proprietary HIPAA/HITECH compliant telehealth platforms and EHR which our providers work out of. The platforms allow for streamline completion of each consultation type from any internet connected device.
Each consultation type has a series of assessment questions associated with it and, based on patient answers to those questions, additional questions are asked until all medical necessity and proper patient history has been input. Most consultation types take under 5 minutes once you are familiar with them.
