As a part of OptumCare, the largest network of medical groups in the nation, MedExpress is seeking a Full-Time Independent Nurse Practitioner to join our team. At Optum, we are transforming healthcare nationally while providing Physician-led care locally.
100% work from home (no onsite)
Monday through Friday schedule at 40 hours per week
Average patient load = 3 patients per hour
Provider will deliver telehealth primary care visits to patients ages 2 years and up
Provides and manages remote patient care with diagnostic acumen, using audio and visual technology to complete patient examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment. Documenting/Charting patient information in line with current policies and procedures
Provides preventative and wellness care for all ages 2 and up. Delivers holistic, patient-centered care with continuity as the identified primary care provider
Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately through audio visual consultations with patients and able to address patient concerns through these medias
Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care
Communicates with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions. Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate
Educate patients on the risks and benefits of treatments ensuring the patient is a part of the decision-making process
Abide by all associated rules, regulations, and laws regarding collaborative practice requirements for each state licensed for telehealth

Master's degree (MSN) and certification by one of the Nurse Practitioner certifying bodies (ANCC or AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
Minimum of three (3) years of in person clinical experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner outside of clinical rotations
Experience in pediatric care within the past two (2) years
An unrestricted DEA license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Possess an awareness and a working understanding of quality measurement in the management of chronic disease conditions
Experience using audio/visual technology or video conferencing platforms
Must have access to high-speed internet and phone lines
Ability to successfully qualify for and obtain unrestricted state licensure throughout the defined platform
Prior three (3) years' experience as an independent practitioner is preferred
Unrestricted active state licensure preferred in multiple of the following states: IL, MN, TX, IA, LA, WI
