Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from the Foreman or General Foreman. May provide some Foreman responsibilities on smaller projects. Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities. Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Provides leadership, instruction, and guidance to lower level craftsmen and may reassign work delegated from supervisor. Completes records, maintains, tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Performs other duties and activities as directed.
This position will lead a Fiber / Telcommuncations crew in performing all duties pertaining to the installation and general upkeep of customers' telecommunications systems. The telecommunications technician's responsibilities include maintaining an accurate record of all work orders completed per day, answering customers' questions, and planning for installations by reviewing customers' orders and ensuring that all necessary supplies and tools are on hand. You should also be able to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
