We have an as needed job opening for a motivated Telecommunications Operator to join our fast paced department at the Lankenau Medical Center campus.
The Telecommunications Operator provides internal and external routine and emergency communications for physicians, staff, patients and external callers through use of the telecommunications computer system. The Operator must be technically proficient in using the computer and process all transactions in a professional, efficient, courteous and timely manner. The Operator must monitor various emergency situations and codes and expeditiously notify the appropriate personnel via audible public address announcements and pagers
Responsibilities to Include:
Assist staff, physicians, patients and callers with instructions and/or information
Adhere to the department/system policies and procedures to process all routine, emergency, internal, and external calls.
Monitor and process alarms / emergencies including Code Blue, Code Red, Code Pink, Code Green, Code Orange, Code Yellow , Emergency Response, Medical Gas and other emergency alarms
Strictly adhere to the department and MLH policies and procedures
Above average communication skills (written and verbal) required in English. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two years recent experience as Telecommunications Operator
preferred. Minimum of one year recent customer service experience required.
Recent PC experience required, including familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to type 40 words a minute required.
