This role is located in Sterling, VA.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities associated with one or more technical areas within the telecom function, to include network design, engineering, implementation, or operations/user support
  • Managing projects and assigning tasks as required for new technologies and features
  • Collaborating with Team members to ensure smooth and reliable fulfillment of business objectives and processes
  • Working with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues
  • Designing and deploying new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems associated with telecommunication
  • Performing cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions
  • Conducting research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts
  • Gauging the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems, and developing and implementing strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Creating and maintaining documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
  • Coordinating and performing in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems
  • Monitoring and testing system performance; preparing and delivering system performance statistics and reports
  • Other duties and projects as may be periodically requested by senior management
Requirements:
  • Have a solid background with Telecommunications
  • The ability to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the network systems that support core organizational functions
  • The ability to apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
  • The ability to support large Unified Communication cluster with over 100+ end devices and users
  • Demonstrate concern and respect for others in all interactions, and inspire confidence and trust
  • Excellent oral and written communication and listening skills
  • Demonstrate proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under pressure
  • BS/BA in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related discipline is required
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the field
  • Certification and/or equivalent experience with:
  • CertifiedCCNA/CCNP: Cisco-Enterprise 11.5 UCM, 12.5 UCCX, FINESSE, UCCX Editor Cisco CIMCVersion: 4.1(1g)and 11.5 UNITY Voice Mail service, and 8861 Cisco Phones.
  • Required Plus:VM WareESXi33.4,Guest OS:RED HAT Enterprise, Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2, and CentOS 7,

Activities include but are not limited to:</p><ul><li><p>Conducting risk analysis on products reviewing CVEs, plugins, CWEs etc;</p></li><li><p>Understanding how to explain and remediate the technical security controls;</p></li><li><p>Facilitating Technical Insertions (the introduction of any new and/or improved hardware or software capabilities into an established operational system) for new products;</p></li><li><p>Reviewing change requests for security impacts and technical documentation from a security perspective;</p></li><li><p>Participates in Agile Planning Events to provide technical input</p></li><li><p>Providing technical input into trade studies for tools;</p></li><li><p>Providing technical expertise in implementation of technical security controls in government cloud environments (cloud security experience is highly desired);</p></li><li><p>Researching, evaluating, testing, recommending, communicating, and implementing new security software or devices;</p></li><li><p>Implementing, enforcing, communicating internet, network, or other information security policies or security plans for data, internet, software applications, hardware, telecommunications, and computer installations;</p></li><li><p>Managing all aspects of an organization's information security system, including researching, testing, training and implementing programs designed to safeguard sensitive information from any possible breaches.</p></li></ul><p>Specific to cloud environment vulnerability management:</p><ul><li><p>Technical expertise in system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, network, and web-related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, etc.)</p></li><li><p>Technical expertise in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security</p></li><li><p>Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as: Burp suite, Rapid7 InsightVM, Tenable Nessus, Web Inspect, and similar</p></li><li><p>Experience analyzing vulnerabilities, establish cause and impact, and identify the corrective action needed to eliminate and prevent the event from happening in the future</p></li><li><p>Experience vulnerability validation, re-production, remedy advice and vulnerability research skills</p></li><li><p>Experience using at least one scripting language (e.g.: Perl, Python, PowerShell)</p></li><li><p>Experience with system administration in Windows and/or Linux.</p></li><li><p>Experience testing and operating Amazon Web Services, Azure, and/or Google</p></li></ul><p>The ISSE supports the Information systems security officer (ISSO) in managing all aspects of an organization's information security system, including researching, testing, training and implementing programs designed to safeguard sensitive information from any possible breaches.
