Overview

Salary: $65,000-$75,000

The Telecommunications Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of our telecommunications infrastructure, primarily consisting of Voice Over IP devices, as well as all related networking equipment. This includes cloud hosted VOIP systems from multiple providers, Cisco Meraki switches and firewalls, and a variety of physical and software phones. Provide backup support to our networking team as required, and as time permits.

Responsibilities

Install and configure IP phones and relevant settings in network switches, routers, and firewalls. Manage and support all aspects of the VOIP communications infrastructure, including hardware and software.

Ensure the operational health of the telecommunications environment, including security, availability, performance, interoperability and reliability. Collaborate with internal customers, internal support teams, external support, and Value-Added Reseller (VAR) as required to support existing and implement new telecommunications systems. Serve as a backup to the Network Administrator in supporting on premises servers, network equipment, and applications.

These include HPE servers, Cisco/Meraki networking equipment, and Microsoft Windows Server operating systems. Ensure that individuals we support are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates' Human Rights policy. Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way Perform all duties in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures. Strictly follow all agency Performance Standards.

Qualifications

Thorough understanding of VOIP telecommunications and related network technologies such as IPv4/6, routing/switching, and LAN/WAN operations. 3+ years of experience managing VOIP technology and related internet protocols. 3+ years of experience working with IPv4 and IPv6 networking, routing, and firewall hardware and software. Self-motivated and able to work independently with only moderate supervision.

Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail.

Must provide own transportation for travel to network sites, as needed. Ability to work and travel independently
