We are looking for an Onsite Technician for our client in the North Chicago area. The candidate must effectively diagnose and solve problems on NEC phone systems, network and data equipment, especially NEC SV9500, NEC SV9300, and Cisco Unity Voicemail. Perform a wide range of services, from basic repair to full installations with little or no supervision.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
Moves phones, replaces phones, trouble shoots phones, installation of cable, and general cable / infrastructure maintenance.
Performs installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on Key and PABX phone systems
Performs installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on Voicemail and Call Center products
Utilizes thorough knowledge and experience, testing, troubleshooting, cutting over, and turning up of phone lines, PRI's, voice and data T-1's, Trunks, and integrated circuits
Troubleshoot telephone system hardware/software, voicemail, and telephone set and feature issues on site and remotely
Install cables and testing
Establishes service by studying equipment requirements; researching documentation, ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests
Maintains rapport with customers by discussing issues; providing technical support; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements
Supports other departments by providing corrective actions to Trouble Tickets, assist the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as required
At customer premises locations identify demarc, pretest and install IAD and loop testing. Assist remote centers with hosted IP-PBX/managed services test and turn up to customer premise
Participate in the on-the-job training program and maintains a working knowledge of all equipment.
Possess hand and finger dexterity and good eyesight with the ability to determine colors.
Requires daily travel, with some overnight travel possible on occasion.
Must be available to be on call after normal business hours and perform service, installation and maintenance work during night time hours is expected.
Protects confidential information, observe and participate in vehicle and office safety programs
Keeps office clean and secure at all times. Operate within and support all client policies and procedures including dress code and vehicle operating policy
Responsible and accountable for maintaining all company equipment to be operational at all times
Adheres to scheduled order completion and maintenance time frames.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Security Background Check is Mandatory
Valid driver's license and must maintain an acceptable MVR that meets the company insurance provider's standards
Must be certified in NEC SV9500 and SV9300
Cisco Certifications are a plus
Other Skills and Abilities
3 -5 years of related telecommunications experience
Basic knowledge of VoIP, networks and data
Working Knowledge of Windows/Linux OS'
Working Knowledge of Adtran equipment
Working Knowledge of Cisco Routing and Switching
Experience resolving complex LAN/WAN issues

Education and/or Experience

H.S. Diploma or Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

VIEW JOBS 12/14/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-14T00:00 <p>Calibration Technician III </p><p>Responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of instrumentation and controls systems used in the production manufacturing areas in assigned facilities. Supports design, programming and specification of equipment and implementation of project related instrumentation and controls hardware. </p><p>Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. </p><p>Major Responsibilities: </p><li> Apply engineering experience to ensure that instrumentation and controls systems used in assigned facilities are properly specified, installed, programmed and calibrated to perform design function. This includes periodic assessment of field device calibration frequencies, and addressing out of tolerance (OOT), accessing instrument performance for replacement/upgrade. </li><li> Troubleshoot analog/digital hardware related problems on process control systems and instrumentation, including distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC's) and single loop analog controllers. This includes related peripherals such as data loggers, scanners, recorders, field I/O devices etc. Assist support instrumentation technicians in role as facility instrumentation/controls technical authority. Or analytical instrumentation such as: High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), Mass Spectrometry (MS), Ultra-Violet Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis), including other types of analytical laboratory instrumentation. </li><li> Assist engineering in development of functional specifications for controls programming on major equipment systems. Including the design of process controls systems. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on various calibration procedures including training and qualifying calibration technicians. Must effectively communicate, document, and schedule all work activities. </li><li> Responsible for maintaining instrumentation and controls equipment in a validated environment including all GxP areas. Assures that instrumentation and controls are of appropriate calibration designation and that red tagged and status coded instrumentation are addressed and repaired within allowable time constraints. Must effectively communicate the status of job activities to management and applicable production support personnel. </li><li> Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by Group Leader, Supervisor, or SR Supervisor. </li><p>Qualifications: </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>High School diploma or GED required. </p><p>Associates Degree in electronics technology or equivalent is strongly desired. </p><p>Minimum of two years’ experience as a Senior Instrument Technician or the equivalent. </p><p>Must manage activities to meet restrictive timelines.</p><p> Must have skills in working with people, with good written and verbal communication skills. </p><p>A knowledge of validated systems, applicable engineering standards and an ability to work with facility specific software applications is critical to the job function. Ability to work within and promote a team environment. </p><p>Monday through Friday, 8 work hours per day.
