Duties

Provides leadership and oversight of Telecomm System Mechanics.

Establishes work sequence, planning, and work layout methodologies along with requirements based on blueprints, drawings, work scope, engineering standards and/or verbal instructions.

Promotes independent judgment and decision making environment within the framework of oral and/or written instructions and accepted practices.

Responsible for effectively and efficiently optimizing resources.

Must be able to perform the duties of the Telecomm System Mechanic

Participates in and provides on-the-job training.

Ability to utilize work management systems

Performs other duties as assigned

When assigned to a Nuclear Plant, must be able to obtain and maintain an unescorted plant access certification. Must be able to obtain and maintain S-3 and S-4 medical ratings with no shift work or overtime restrictions. Must be willing and medically qualified to work rotating shifts and the maximum overtime permitted by TVA procedures during peak demand periods.

Education and Experience/Certificates, Licenses and Registration Requirements/Other Requirements

Journey level experience in the Electrical/Telecommunications Technology field and demonstrated leadership skills.

Supervision Received

Performs independently on routine assignments.

Supervision may be provided by higher grade employees.

Supervision Over Others

The incumbent may direct the work of other craft personnel.
