Position Summary

The Structural Engineer (Telecom) will be responsible for the design and structural analysis of new or existing communication structures for wireless telecommunication sites (towers, buildings, foundations, rooftops, etc.). The Structural Engineer will also manage telecom site design projects.

  • Reviews tower and rooftop structures and foundations

  • Analyzes tower and rooftop structures and foundations using hand-calculations, tower analysis software (RISA 3D and TNX Tower) and other accepted engineering methods

  • Conform design to local jurisdictional requirements for land use and permitting

  • Designs reinforcing and extension solutions

  • Coordinates and manages timelines and milestones

  • Coordinates with other engineers/designers, drafters, site acquisition and construction personnel in a team environment

  • Modify and/or refine details during project to improve design

  • Work closely with Business Development team to prepare contracts for A/E drawings and structural work including review of scope and fees

  • Management of CAD Design team members in preparation of equipment and antenna layout drawings for lease exhibits, zoning drawings, and construction drawings

  • Serve as design professional of record for zoning drawings and construction drawings for permitting purposes

  • Performs site visits as needed to document field conditions for new sites and site modification projects

  • Ensures accurate project status reporting

  • Responsibilities will also include project planning and client contact

This position can also sit in Irvine, CA.

  • 5-10 years of related experience required

  • BS or MS in an engineering discipline required

  • California SE License OR has fulfilled all of the CA requirements for SE and get their license in a short time period (within 6 months) is required

  • Ability to travel when needed required

  • Valid drivers license required

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office required

Position Summary The Project Manager will use project management expertise to oversee staff processes and procedures, client relations, time schedules, deliverables and quality performance to successful completion of wireless site development. The PM will be responsible for managing leasing, zoning specialists and construction management team and reporting to both client and Jacobs senior management. The PM will also ensure that Jacobs meets production, budget and deadline goals for the project. Responsibilities include: * Manage day-to-day operations related to a particular project * Coordinate accurate, up-to-date reporting of project status, scheduling, and planning * Manage schedule of Site Acquisition and Construction deliverables * Supervise the site acquisition and land use planning staff progress relative to assigned projects * Provide direction and guidance to Site Acquisition, Zoning Specialists and Construction team, as well as, conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with project staff to review individual site progress * Manage site selection from a Real Estate viewpoint while coordinating with the Design, Zoning, RF Engineering and Construction Management Teams * Assist in the development of master real estate agreements including Lease Documents, Option Agreements and Letters of Authorization * Oversee the finding of suitable site candidates, review preliminary site documentation, review negotiated terms of the standard lease or option agreement with property owner, report the negotiation issues to the client, review letter of explanation describing every deal point for completeness * Coordinate with other managers, consultants and contractors on project to ensure quality performance * Travel to sites and work in client designated areas as required * Attend project and deployment meetings * Oversee project financials, including managing billing and receivable process * Build and maintain superior client relations * Ensure project team is using Jacobs and client reports, accounting systems, and other administrative work accurately and on schedule * Build a positive, committed team * 10 years wireless industry experience * Travel may be required * Valid driver's license required * Excellent communication skills required * Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a highly interdependent team of individual contributors required * Highly organized and disciplined with proven time management skills required * Real Estate license preferred * Thorough understanding and experience completing both new build and site modification projects for wireless sites preferred * Strong computer background, MS Office, especially Word and Excel preferred Must be able to work for any US Employer without requiring visa sponsorship. Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 10 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary.
