What you'll be doing...
As a Network Engineer you will be part of an Innovation team responsible for developing engineering solutions which will positively impact efficiency and acceleration of the critical One Fiber and iEN programs. This will give you the opportunity to work hand in hand with the Transport and Access engineering team, Information Technology, and other internal organizations leveraging an agile methodology to accomplish goals quickly.
Develop standards and M&Ps (Method and Procedure documents) to support the implementation of engineering work activities.
Lead projects as the main client representative with Information Technology (IT) to develop tools via the agile project development process.
Proactively collaborate with peer teams (Cross functional, IT, field and Network Planning) to ensure system needs are cared for in the Agile method user story creation, development prioritization, bug resolution, UAT coordination and training.
Partner with stakeholders to resolve issues to ensure the network is designed according to the Network Planning architecture plan and that the builds are completed in a timely manner.
Provide support to and foster growth in new and innovative programs such as 360 Immersive Mapping and Wi-Fi product development, IEN Assessments and CORC program management.
Develop collaborative working relationships across the Verizon family of companies and affiliates to foster a productive and successful program implementation. Actively seek partnerships to drive innovation, process improvement and interval reduction.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
5+ years of planning and/or designing telecommunications networks.
10+ years in Network Engineering, access /transport implementation/network creation, operations or planning.
Implementation knowledge of legacy platforms including SONET and ROADM.
Ability to analyze and identify functionality gaps with process and systems, and formulate a plan of action to create value.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where flexibility and agility are needed to resolve complex issues.
Effective interpersonal and team building capabilities.
Strong project planning and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven problem solving skills.
Willingness to share and collaborate with peers, to build strong cross-functional teams.
Proactive approach to business with the motivation to drive results.
