POSITION: Technology Technician

STARTING DATE: As soon as possible

REPORTS TO: Network Administrator

General Description

This position is an hourly position under the direction and supervision of the Network Administrator. The Technician will be responsible for the general operation, repair, and procurement of technology equipment and infrastructure, as well as maximizing its use as a learning resource to support teaching and enhance student learning. This position will be supporting the technology at Pennfield Schools.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Troubleshoot/Diagnose problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required using the district Help Desk System

  • Deliver technical support in a courteous, accurate and timely fashion

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written communication

  • Able to plan, prioritize, and coordinate complex multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and complete tasks in a timely, accurate, and effective fashion

  • Manage and Inventory technology using the online inventory system

  • Perform preventative maintenance and install upgrade and options

  • Install, configure and maintain a variety of computer and instructional technology hardware including computer equipment, chromebooks, printers, tablets, phones, projectors/media and data communications equipment

  • Repair hardware problems, set up, configure and test equipment

  • Assist in the development of long range planning for new projects and computer hardware/software

  • Assist with device distribution and collection, including some evenings.

  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team to accomplish work goals and objectives

  • Keep up to date professionally

  • Other duties as may be assigned by Supervisory staff members

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent in a related field preferred but not required. Comparable experience in the technology field will be considered

  • Network+ or comparable and Google Systems Knowledge preferred

  • Must be able to demonstrate relevant math, written and verbal communication skills

  • Must have demonstrated skills and knowledge of human relations

  • Must have a demonstrated history of work ethics, including attendance

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds

  • Must have valid Michigan Driver's license

  • Must have own transportation to and from assignments

  • Must be able to pass a criminal history check

Wages and Benefits:

Hours to be worked: 8 hours daily- Some evenings

Pay Range: $15 / hour
