Position: Technology Technician III

Reports to: Director of Technology

Pay Grade: 72

FLSA Status: Non-exmempt

NATURE OF WORK

An individual in this class works as a senior or lead technician at the system level. This employee performs skilled and managerial work in supporting the activities of Level I and II Technology Technicians. This work includes support and maintenance of all technology-related equipment as well as technical support for all technology-related systems. This employee is responsible for maintaining the operation and integrity of identity automation management, user authentication, data integration, and administrative account management. The Technology Technician III supports the Director of Technology and Network Engineer in the design, configuration, and installation of networks, programs, and file servers.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK

• Works with the technology director and/or network engineers in the development and implementation of all technical aspects of the district strategic plan.

• Prepares and supports devices/servers for testing requirements.

• Supports the daily activities of the Level I and II technical support staff.

• Supports the Network Engineer to ensure the reliability and performance of local firewalls and filtering systems.

• Maintains the device management platform along with administrative and local access.

• Supports the identify automation management and administrative access to technology related programs and resources.

• Supervises and/or performs the installation of hardware, software and related peripherals.

• Supports the implementation and operations of the finance and business modernization platforms.

• Assists with the maintenance of data integration, file servers, and other related peripherals under the guidance of the network engineer.

• Supports area networks by tracking significant problems, monitoring performance, and installing upgrades to hardware and software as needed.

• Develops and implements training for technical support staff.

• Attends classes and seminars to enhance knowledge of equipment and operating.

• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Strong knowledge of computers and related technologies.

• Ability to manage network, account, and device management systems (e.g., Intune, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Apple and Office365 admin consoles, etc.)

• Strong knowledge of infrastructure requirements and components of networks.

• Ability to support technical support staff.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.

• Ability to retrieve variety of data points and compile into thorough reports.

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of technology users.

SUGGESTED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

An Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, two years' experience in a network environment, supervisory training or experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
