Technology Support Specialist
40 hours per week

Position: The district Technology Support Specialist is a member of the school system's technology department who responds to a wide variety of requests for technical support.

This individual is the first level of support for school district staff, classroom technologies and school building technology including: hardware, software, printer, server, and network related problems. Works on computer deployment projects and assists with management/maintenance of 1 to 1 student Chromebook program. Performs classroom technology maintenance and project work during the summer months.

Assists with technology, training, and support for district events such as professional development and high school and middle school graduation ceremonies. This person should be a team player who works closely and collaboratively with the Systems Support Specialist in order to resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner. Reports to the Director of Technology.

Location(s):

The Granby Public Schools district campus includes four school locations and a central office location. The Technology Support Specialist has a permanent office location and is required to travel frequently between various locations to fulfill his or her duties.

Qualifications:
Skills/knowledge desired includes: outstanding customer service, ability to work collaboratively with various school district employees, advanced troubleshooting, ability to work through technical problems unsupervised individually and as part of a technical support team, ability to learn and keep up to date with relevant business and instructional technologies, train end-users, wired and wireless networking concepts, computer/information security, desktop imaging technologies, Windows and Microsoft Office, network printing, computer hardware and peripherals, mobile devices, ability to learn and understand enterprise level software applications, common internet browsers/technologies, familiarity with Google products including Gsuite for Education, familiarity with common multimedia software applications and tools and common open-source software applications.

HS diploma or equivalent plus two years of education desired. Professional certification in technology (A+, Network+ or other technology certifications desired) or equivalent job experience required.

A valid driver's license and your own transportation to and from campus locations is required. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required. Educational technology support experience is a plus.

Salary Range: $44,000 to $49,000

Start Date: July 22, 2019, or as soon as is mutually acceptable.
