The primary purpose of the position of Technology Support Analyst is to perform routine diagnostics and maintenance with multiple operating systems including, OPUS and VINE. This position will be resolving most incident tickets escalated to them, and research on new technologies being implemented (issues that cannot be solved will be escalated to the appropriate vendor/team). Participates as a team member on small and/or large projects.

This position will also be responsible for supervision of Program Coordinator II staff.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists with testing of new releases of software, vendor modifications, upgrades, and patches

  • Resolves routine issues and problems; provides technical support for supported systems

  • Act as NCID Administrator and Site Security Administrator for section by maintaining statistical data for the SAVAN program to include OPUS, Vine, VOCA, etc.

  • Victim registration from multiple sources including but not limited to court documents and registration forms

  • Maintain inventory for SAVAN program

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the NC Crime Victim's Right Statute

  • Experience with Offender Population Unified System (OPUS)

  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting standard/common operating systems and software/hardware issues

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze Victim Support Services needs and effectively communicate back to technical experts

Management Preferences:

  • Working knowledge of the sentencing structures

  • Working knowledge of the VINE Systems and Microsoft Power Platform

  • Ability to understand and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution plus one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position's role

OR

Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in the information technology field related to the position's role

OR

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in the field of technology related to the position's role or an equivalent combination of education and experience

This Agency includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision. Other divisions included are, Administration, Compliance & Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission, and Rehabilitation & Reentry.  

The primary purpose of the Victim Services Section is to serve the victims of North Carolina in various capacities through the mandated programs. Victim Support Services assists victims, their families and interested parties whose offenders are sentenced in court to a prison term, placed on probation or released from prison on parole or post-release supervision through the Adult Corrections notification program (OPUS) according to NCGS Chapter 15A Articles 45 and 46. NC SAVAN (NC Statewide Automated Victims Assistance Notification) is a criminal justice information sharing system that supports automated victim notification for incarcerated offenders according to NCGS Chapter 15A Articles 45 and 46.
