The opportunity

Sourcing and strategic partnerships have emerged as a key capability for operating model transformation. It is well known that sourcing can reduce the cost of labor; but, in today's environment, sourcing is increasingly enhancing business operations through access to new technologies, capabilities, and operating model structures that result in better processes, customer service, and business effectiveness while driving continued cost savings. We help clients use strategic sourcing and partnerships to drive competitive advantages and create more sustainable cost structures. We serve our clients across several key dimensions of the sourcing life cycle:

  • Strategy Development

  • Vendor evaluation and selection

  • Structuring of commercial arrangements

  • Transition and transformation management

Your key responsibilities

A Senior Manager in the sourcing and strategic partnership area will be responsible for leading client engagements across the full spectrum of sourcing and strategic partnership solutions including: sourcing strategy development, market research on providers, price and performance benchmarking, contract analysis, RFP development, vendor selection support, business case analysis, negotiations support, transition and transformation management support, establishment of vendor governance capabilities and benefits realization management.

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Seven to ten years of experience as a consultant in the ITO or BPO field or comparable industry experience

  • Expertise in IT or BPO services including but not limited to delivering across the full life cycle of sourcing including the ability to advise clients on complex commercial structures, strategic sourcing and workforce decisions, and enabling the execution of such decisions.

  • Experience delivering projects to diverse sets of clients in the IT and BPO space. Examples include establishment of strategic managed services arrangements for IT and BPO services, understanding of how to transition services, and how to establish a lasting vendor governance structure that can manage benefits realization on behalf of the client organization.

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Demonstrated experience working in cross functional teams

  • Experience working with a Big 4 or boutique consulting firm

  • Experience supporting professional services sales

  • Professional communications skills (written and verbal)

While efficient use of capital has a positive impact on current P&L, the future business potential of investing in technology assets tends to be overlooked time over time. As a result, many technology executives (CIO, CTO, CDO) today find themselves defending ever shrinking IT budgets, which exacerbates the challenges in driving and enabling new technology focused revenue models or need to develop self-funding models. To truly enable technology transformation, technology executives need to think like CEOs of their IT business. Your key responsibilities A Senior Manager is responsible for delivering client engagements and supporting sales across the full spectrum of IT financial management and cost optimization including: Spend analysis, P&L / cost modelling, chargeback development, and enabling tool implementations (e.g. Nicus).
