Position: Technology Resource Teacher (TRT) Reports to:

Principal or designee Employment Status: Regular/Full-time Description: Provide leadership in the integration of technology into instruction, help implement staff development programs and training aligned to district PD needs, assist in leading building in technology efforts.

Focus Areas: Integration of technology into instruction in Grades K-12, core subject areas, and exploratory and elective courses. NOTE: The below lists are not ranked in order of importance Essential Functions:

Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and present clear, complete and accurate explanations utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable to the level of learners Provide service and support to teachers in the integration of technology into instruction, train on basic operation of hardware, software, and web-based applications Provide expertise in collaborative learning and interdisciplinary projects using technology Identify and implement best practices in integrating technology into instruction Assist with the orientation of new teachers in the areas of integrating technology into instruction Assist building principals as instructional leaders in assisting staff in improving teaching methods, techniques, and classroom learning environments Act as a liaison for Technology Services Department and weekly update meetings Update building websites with current Tech Integration resources Ensure safety of students Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., student records Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation Attend meetings and in-services as required Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with parents through effective communication and conferences Observe professional ethics; exhibit professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment Maintain and improve professional competence Other Duties and Responsibilities: Interact with public in official capacity when required Interact with Superintendent and/or Board of Education and present information as requested Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as responsible citizens Respond to routine questions and requests in a timely, appropriate manner Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships Assist in the determination of appropriate curriculum, materials, and supplies Attend professional growth seminars, workshops, etc., to keep current on relevant issues Discipline students when necessary Refer attendance, health, and psychological emotional problems to Principal and/or Guidance Counselor Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university Appropriate State of Ohio certifications/license for grade band posted Prior teaching experience is preferred - experience as TRT preferred Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of academic area and teaching methodology Skills that foster and facilitate learning and classroom management Education pedagogy Student/teacher relationship Professionalism Additional Working Conditions: Occasional requirement to travel daily and overnight Occasional interaction among unruly children Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue Frequent requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, climb, and stoop This job description is subject to change and in no manner states or implies that these are the only duties and responsibilities to be performed by the incumbent.
