The Cyber Security Technology (CST) function within Global Information Security is responsible for innovation and architecture, engineering, solutions and capabilities development, deployment maintenance and support of information technology security controls. The CST team is also responsible for the management of the program/project management teams.

The Technology Project Solutions Manager will be a member of the Global Information Security Program Delivery team. In this role, you will support end-to-end technology change medium to large-sized projects and programs.

You will be performing project management tasks related to information technology implementations, upgrades, conversions and recoveries across the entire technology organization, as well as line of businesses within the entire organization. You might be responsible for managing multiple projects or a single major projects or programs of moderate to high complexity.

You may also coordinate resources within and across projects and organizations. You should feel comfortable meeting demands associated with managing multiple projects in a global environment.

Required Skills:

  • Experience leading and managing technology teams in the delivery of business outcomes

  • Experience managing multiple projects or single major project

  • Develop project plans, major tasks, and milestones using scope, resources, budget, and personnel as criteria

  • Define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout project life cycle

  • Proven track record of communicating effectively and influencing vertically and laterally

  • Ability to lead diverse technology teams in a distributed organization

  • Demonstrated executive presentation skills

  • Ability to exhibit flexibility and complete tasks other than Project Management, if necessary

  • Coordinate and perform detailed business analysis

  • Develop functional/business requirements and technical specifications

  • Design documents, workflows, use cases, and perhaps perform data analysis

  • Knowledge of PMI, Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile (SCRUM), Waterfall, and/or Six Sigma (Lean) methodologies

  • Detailed-oriented, results-driven, high-energy and motivated. Exhibit a high degree of independence as this position is responsible for thorough, high quality deliverables utilizing best practices, project management tools, and methodologies to ensure on-time / on-budget delivery, along with optimization of production system availability and stability

VIEW JOBS 3/26/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-24T00:00 Department Information The ITS unit exists to provide comprehensive information technology delivery and support in the form of personnel, desktop and mobile computing, multi-media equipment, hardware, network infrastructure, software, telephone and network cabling services to the University community. This unit is the centralized computing services department for the University. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of a broad range of information technology projects within all divisions of the Information Technology Services department and coordinate and participate in Change Management processes as part of the Project Management Lifecycle. Will utilize best practices in project management using appropriate tools and methodologies. Description of Job Primary Duties * Project assessment, design, planning and strategy * Work with project sponsors to define the business goals and objectives for each project * Review and analyze the project plan * Identify project goals and key stakeholders * Review budget and timelines Tactical project coordination, resource engagement, implementation and metrics gathering * Create Project Charters * Review specifications and understand desired schedule for significant benchmarks * Create and maintain project parameters using project management software * Formalize project schedules, coordinate and document project logistics into contract documents * Identify equipment and materials with long lead times * Develop a bid strategy consistent with University policies and procedures, as appropriate * Work within ITS and across the university to establish project teams with the skills needed to complete each project. * Establish clear, measurable success criteria * Schedule and conduct meetings as reasonably necessary to keep projects on track * Manage project resources including people, equipment, and budgets. * Manage project scope through an established change management process. * Adjust project constraints as required to meet project goals * Maintain project status for stakeholders and project participants * Conduct project wrap-up activities to finalize budgets, release resources, identify areas that could be improved upon, etc. * Produce a lessons-learned documents Reporting, stakeholder communications and campus engagement * Facilitate and maintain regular, effective communication between all relevant entities * Track problem reports to ensure timely resolution and conduct trend analysis. * Communicate with the Solutions Center\Help Desk and campus at large to ensure accurate dissemination of information. * Ensure that project goals were accomplished, and the completion criteria were satisfied * Assist with communications associated with Change Management coordination with impacted stakeholders Staff training and Change Management * Assist in the implementation of continuous process improvement and quality control methods, training, and adoption throughout IT and as a consultant to campus departments as identified. * Work with staff to develop documentation and training classes as appropriate to implement training and self-help resources identified in project goals. OR Associates degree from accredited college or university plus 4 years proven work experience in project management and managing information initiatives OR High School diploma (or equivalent) plus 6 years proven work experience in project management and managing information initiatives * Currently possess or have the ability to acquire project management certification within 6-12 months of hire * 2 years of proven professional project management experience * 2 years managing information technology initiatives * Excellent communication and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree in a related field * Current PMP, CompTIA Project+, CAPM, CPM, or equivalent project management certification * Experience working in a higher education IT environment * Experience working with a diverse group of IT support personnel Supplemental Information All interested candidates must apply through the on-line application system.
