You are the contact person for global production plants within and outside the BASF group for technological and process safety relevant questions and you will provide solution in close contact with BASFs centers of expertise. Capacity increase and process stability is a key pillar of our asset strategy. As the technology owner, you develop investment projects together with our business and production units world-wide and act as technology manager during approval and implementation phase.
This also includes conduction, validation or challenging of cost estimations. You are in the driver seat to identify, manage and implement process optimization projects to continuously improve our competitiveness. Within that, break through ideas as well as quick winning OpEx measures are in your focus.
You actively shape our Technology strategy with your deep technical process understanding and your entrepreneurial spirt. One basis for that are cost and technology benchmarks for our major production technologies that you develop together with the business team as well as with external consultants. This position is based in Newport with 25% travel expected, predominately to Ludwigshafen.

BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent What we expect: -Study of chemical engineering, process engineering or chemistry, with working experience in research, production or project engineering. A technical and also chemical background is required.
Profound knowledge in project management
You have excellent communication skills and like to work in intercultural teams. -preferably you have experience with multi-step organic batch chemistry -preferably you have first experience in invest cost estimation and BASFs investment process including profitability calculation. -preferably you have first experience in invest cost estimation and BASFs investment process including profitability calculation. First experience in BASFs cost estimation tools like e.g. KosDias is an advantage. -preferably, you already have experience with the BASF R&D process as project lead
Very good knowledge in English, preferably also in German.
You can present you findings and ideas from shop floor to upper management level in a convincing way.
